Behind the Mindset - Vol. 1

According to the analytics, I've stared at this website at least one hundred times. As of this moment, I've worked late into the night finalizing uploads, changing button colors, arguing with a certain flex pay company who keeps denying my application - and yet, here we are. Between work, school, and two rowdy boys... time is of the essence, and I'm giving this name, this brand all I got in the quiet of the night.
Fed Up Studios has been my project, my baby for more years than I care to admit. I was about 15, sitting at an old computer in the house of a family friend when I created the first images of my design portfolio. My family and I were homeless, bouncing from place to place... but there, in the corner of that old cramped house, and because of the man who was kind enough to let me use his Wi-Fi - I did it. I created my first logo on Macromedia Fireworks Mx 2004, a torrented copy, and began uploading images to sale my design services on craigslist.Â
I ended up working for no good swindler who promised small business owners a custom website and design services. I never got paid, but I did keep the pink Razor flip phone I was given for work requests. I ended up selling that phone shortly after to a pawn shop to buy the family a couple groceries. Man, times were tough back then. But I carried it with me, this line, even when I almost went blind and deleted 99% of my design collection and hand coded websites from the depression that followed. I guess at that time I didn't realize how well the name "Fed Up" suited my life. Ha!Â
And yet again, here we are. Still pulling late nights, trying to make a name for this name. I suppose it's time to end the rambling, although it was nice remembering where it all started, even if for only the briefest of moments. Looking forward to launch day, though...
